There is nothing like a move across the country to make you realize that leaving the people you love is really hard. Even with the happy memories that are packed in your heart, its not the same as being there. However, what I am realizing is that moving (in any capacity) is not only about saying goodbye, but also about expanding on this adventure called life. If we don't move or change at all, we risk not grasping what we are capable of and understanding that there is so much vibrant life outside of ourselves.
There is something profound about leaving the people and places we know so well and settling into a brand new territory. It can be incredibly uncomfortable and lonely, but it forces growth and faith in ourselves and our situation. It stretches us.
At the end of the day, it has to be about building our life where we are, welcoming the opportunities that come our way, and indulging in the beauty and bounty around us.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." Alan Watts
